Implants are the most modern, natural and long-lasting method to replace missing teeth. Dental implants can replace one or more teeth, provide support for a partial denture or be used to attach a full denture. There are three components of an implant. First, an oral surgeon places an endosteal implant into the jawbone. The bone then grows around the implant holding it firmly in place. Three to five months after the implant has been placed in the jaw bone, Dr. Rigden attaches a post to the implant. The post connects the implant to the artificial tooth or denture. Finally, the artificial tooth or denture is attached to the post. Ask Dr. Rigden if you are a candidate for implant restorations.
